A secondary school in Wembley has been recognised for its exceptional performance by coming in the top 20 percent nationally for both its high average grades and progress.

Preston Manor School in Carlton Avenue East, will receive two awards from the Schools, Students and Teachers network (SSAT) at a ceremony later this year.

Educational outcomes data analysis from SSAT showed the high grades and progress made by pupils between their key stage two and key stage four results.

The school’s SSAT Educational Outcomes Awards will be presented at a regional event held to draw attention to the work of high-achieving, improving and innovating schools and teachers.

Beth Kobel, headteacher, said: “We are delighted to have been presented with these awards which recognise the attainment and progress of our students and not just their final exam results. These awards are testament to the hard work and dedication of both students and staff in raising attainment for all students. Preston Manor is a non-selective school with a very inclusive ethos and we value learning, building resilience and developing the whole child. This award makes me very proud of our school community.”

Sue Williamson, chief executive of SSAT, said: “It’s my great pleasure to commend Preston Manor School on their excellent 2015 performance and to have the opportunity to highlight and share their great work at the celebration evening. I have the privilege of visiting a lot of schools and I am always impressed by the creativity of teachers in engaging and inspiring their students.

“I hope that SSAT’s Educational Outcomes awards will highlight the professionalism, commitment and hard work of the leaders, teachers and students at Preston Manor School. Recognising and sharing successes like this is at the heart of SSAT’s mission so I’m delighted to congratulate Preston Manor School on their achievement.
