It was a dream come true for two lucky Spurs fans who made their way to a premiership game at Wembley Stadium after winning a pair of tickets.
Helen Langan from Lovat Close in Neasden, and Mick McGushin, from Larch Road, Cricklewood won a competition run by the Brent & Kilburn Times to see their heroes take on Burnley FC at the Premier League match on Sunday.
Ms Langan, who took her sister Anne to the game, said: “I’m still on cloud nine. It was absolutely brilliant and we couldn’t have asked for anything better apart from the result - everything went well until the 91st minute when they equalised. It was a draw, so that was ok.”
The research funding officer for the British Academy had visited White Hart Lane before it was demolished but for years had no luck getting tickets.
She added: “We were sitting behind the managers, we could see the players coming in and out.
I’ll treasure this memory forever.”
Mr McGushin was equally thrilled with his win and took his friend Jerry Drummond.
The 48-year-old said: “It was really good, I’ve never won anything in my life, so I feel really lucky.
I went to see Spurs a long time ago and it’s my first time to Wembley Stadium. It was great.”
