A Wembley woman has been found guilty of causing death by careless driving after she run over and killed a two-year-old girl in a supermarket car park.

Hoden Aden, 44, of Macarthur Close, hit Fahima Hassan as the tot and her mother left Asda in Forty Lane, Wembley.

The pair were near a zebra style crossing when Fahima was struck by Aden’s Volkswagen Tigua.

Fahima, who lived in Kingsbury, died from her injuries later that day on September 11, 2014.

Aden later told police she thought she had hit a supermarket trolley.

She interviewed twice under caution and subsequently charged in December last year last year.

Last week at Harrow Crown Court she was convicted by a jury and will be sentenced on September 12.

Detective Sergeant Stephen Pidgeon of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit in Alperton, said: “Hoden Aden has had to face up to the fact that her careless driving resulted in the avoidable death of a two-year-old child.

“She will be sentenced in due course but of course nothing she faces can be comparable to the unimaginable loss suffered by Fahima’s family and especially her mother who had to relive the collision by giving evidence in court.”
