THE council's music service is searching for young musicians to perform in Wembley Arena and possibly Glastonbury 2011, writes Vicky Beckett.

Brent Music Service (BMS) is forming a pop/rock music group for the first time and is looking for musicians to join a pop group called 'the band.'

The group will perform at Wembley arena on July 8 this year as part of the Brent Makes Music Event.

Eric Angus, deputy head of BMS, said: "It's hoped that this exciting new venture will offer the selected young musicians an ideal outlet in all respects for their possible untapped talents, giving them the opportunity to rehearse and perform a wide variety of modern pop/rock music styles, with the benefit of help from the professional musicians in a purpose built facility."

Young guitarist, singers, drummers, bass and keyboard players, aged between 14 and 19, who live or go to school in Brent, must apply before Friday, April 9.
