A market offering high quality food, drink and artisan produce will be opening in Wembley Park, it has been announced.

The weekly event on a Sunday will replace Wembley market which closed last week after operating near the National Stadium for more than 25 years.

As well as an array of stalls the market will also offer seasonal entertainment and an events programme that reflects the borough’s diverse community.

Operated by Market Place, it is expected to be launched before Christmas.

James Saunders, chief operating officer at Quintain, who are managing the £3.4billion, 85-acre regeneration Wembley Park development, which was formally known as Wembley City, said: “The appointment of Market Place is a key milestone in our aim to bring a top quality programme of markets and events to Wembley Park, which alongside our other leisure and retail offers will make this a fantastic place to live, visit and spend time.

”We are delighted to be working with them to bring an exciting new programme of activity to Wembley Park and our plans for a Christmas Market will be announced soon.”
