A £6,000 community fund has opened to support projects led by schools, charities and grassroots groups.

The fund has been launched by housebuilder Redrow London across north west London and is open to entries from anyone, with no cause too small.

Redrow says the money could be used for a range of purposes, from supplying new books for school children to buying a new kit for a local sports team or providing craft supplies for a youth group.

The initiative is designed to empower those at the heart of the community, providing them with the tools and resources they need to continue their work or even embark on a new and exciting project.

Redrow London invests in the areas it builds in, contributing towards education, healthcare, public transport and affordable housing as part of the planning process.

It is currently constructing Colindale Gardens, and has already donated to causes including Unitas Barnet Youth Zone.

Sales director Jody Bryant, who presented the cheque, said: "We are really excited to have opened up our community fund for 2024, which forms part of our commitment to supporting local infrastructure and creating thriving communities both within Colindale Gardens and in the wider area.

"Community plays a huge role in choosing where to live and we are continuously looking at ways we can support the local area.

"Residents living at our developments across the region really value their local groups and organisations, which are the backbone of happy, healthy and safe communities."

Mr Bryant added: "We are inviting entries from any group, organisation or individual within or serving North West London, to let us know how we could help their exciting plans – and look forward to making as many come true as possible!"

The community fund is open for applications and will close at midnight on April 15, 2024.
