An accident hotspot could be about too become much safer.

Brent Council are asking for the public’s thoughts on whether the area around All Souls Avenue and Chamberlayne Road in Kensal Rise should be a 20mph zone.

Between 2013 and 2015, Brent Council identified 32 accidents in the area. Five of these incidents resulted in serious injury, six involved a pedestrian, and 14 involved cyclists and motorcylists.

The council introduce road safety measures across the borough dependant on the number of personal injury accidents recorded.

This accident prone site has now been earmarked as the council seek to implement traffic calming measures. A 20mph zone is already in place further down Chamberlayne Road.

The council hope to create an environment which reduces the number and severity of traffic accidents in the area. The proposed scheme will improve road safety for all road users and also encourage more walking and cycling in the area.

Consultation ends on November 17. You can have your say here.

  • Purves road and Mortimer road need new speed reducing speed bumps. My friend’s cat got killed earlier this month on Mortimer road and multiple car side mirrors broken by cars travelling fast on the narrow roads. I support traffic calming measures on the inside roads as well where people reside. Purves road and Mortimer road are two connections from Harrow road on to Chamberlain road. These should be dealt with as a priority.
