I Don't Know, Lisa Hannigan's second single, is possibly the most exquisitely adorable song yet released this summer.

Light, fresh and fun, with a gorgeous lyrical premise, this latest release from the Irish delight's debut album, is as sweet a love story as you could imagine.

Stepping out of Damien Rice's creative shadow after seven years gave her the opportunity to put together Sea Sew, already a platinum album in Ireland.

Now, in the age of Facebook, Twitter and the like, where everyone seems to know everything about everyone else and wants to tell the world everything about themselves, the words resonate as something from time gone by.

'I don't know what you smoke, or what countries you've been to, if you speak any other languages other than your own, I'd like to meet you.'

She was on Jools Holland performing it at the end of his last series showing off all her expressive charm. The brass and strings, together with the brushes on the snare are all part of a stunning package.

You can see and hear her for yourself at Union Chapel on July 16.

* I Don't Know will be released on Monday on Hoop Recordings.
